If you follow along on Instagram, you have probably seen my Merkato Tote from Parker Clay (you can learn more about what this brand stands for and why I love it in this post). I carry this bag everywhere. I suppose you could say we are TOTEally inseparable. The Merkato is timeless, and the versatility has made it the Mary Kate to my Ashley. Also, it looks sleek, chic and structured while still holding all my essentials. I use the term "essentials" loosely, but for me this means 23 shades of nude lipstick, my laptop, my latest library book and also currently the alpaca head from my dog's Halloween costume (don't ask, quarantine is a hard and confusing time).

Anyways, I wanted to talk a little bit about Parker Clay today because they have recently launched their Pay it Forward campaign. My affection for this brand stems from their devotion to marginalized populations in our international community. 100% of Parker Clay's products are manufactured in Ethiopia by the local craftsmen whom they employ. Ethiopia is, unfortunately, known as a global source, destination and transit country for sex trafficking and prostitution. Women are targeted and exploited by organized crime groups under the pretense of working towards a better life.

Currently, Parker Clay is employing 130 Ethiopians, 80% of whom are women, and 25% of whom were hired out of prostitution. Parker Clay's mission in 2020 is to employ 250+ Ethiopians and save 100+ women from exploitation. In this Pay it Forward initiative, Parker Clay is asking us to back them now with a monetary contribution, in exchange for a 200% payback on your investment in the form of Parker Clay gift cards by January of 2021. For example, say you contribute $50 today. In return, you will be given a 30% discount code, in addition to receiving $100 in gift cards in January 2021. You do good by helping them do good, AND you are rewarded with ethically sourced luxury leather product. You can learn more about how you can participate here, and in the video below.

Right now, you can also use my discount code fashionbylaws for 25% off ANY purchase from their site. I've linked a few things I've got my eye on below ;)

When we go together, we go far!

XX, Clarissa
